My Life

Work is pretty hard to come by around these parts, and it doesent help them all them coast dwellers be hatin' on us labourers. Most of the time we Oakies spend our time caroling away the boredom and drinkin' away our sorrows. My wife bhas been holarin' at me every day tetlling me to get of ma lazy behind and get a job. I try to tell her there aint no jobs, but she just wont listen. My wife be the laziest of all spending all the money I earn on dresses on corsets and jewelry when we can barely afford a scrap of bread.

American Dream

The American Dream is the ideal that states everybody has the opportunity to lead a successful life through hard work an perseverance. James Truslow Adams once said "life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement" regardless of social class or circumstances of birth."

Today the American Dream is about being an educated person and making money through business.
